Welcome to KC Rock History

Guitarist Roach of Groovie Ghoulies at El Torreon

This website is designed to become the home for rock history in the Kansas City area; a place to share memories and memorabilia.

In 2010, I began researching the topic with an eye toward publishing a book. I need lots of help, though, so please share your memories here in the comments section — no registration necessary. And if you have some groovy artifacts that help to tell the story, please contact me at rick@kcrockhistory.com.

  1. Hmm is anyone else experiencing problems with the pictures on this
blog loading? I’m trying to find out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog.

Any feed-back would be greatly appreciated.

  2. I’m not easily impressed but you’ve done it with that posting.

  3. Hmm it seems like your web site ate my initial comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m nonetheless new to everything. Do you’ve any suggestions for rookie blog writers? I’d definitely appreciate it.

  4. Thanks for saying that, Irene. I found that small scene was very important. I think many of us struggle with that concept. When I found that idea–from Helen Keller!–I thought it crystalized much for me. And I also think what our 'worthy purpose' is can change over the course of our lives.

  5. I just came over here to look up your "dinner in a pumpkin" recipe since its Halloween & I've never tried it, I'm gonna make that dang it! Then I saw this post & it made my heart happy! I have made this so many times I could do it with my eyes closed! Why does it taste so freaking good?!?!?! I hope you're all ok after that crazy hurricane!!!!!
